Defences in FIFA 16 will make attackers and midfielders think twice

Electronic Arts has revealed new information regarding "FIFA 16" during Gamescom 2015 in Germany, and it includes a revamped Career Mode and Ultimate Team Draft. Ahead of the game's release on September 24, the developer shared that two latest additions have been made for Career Mode as requested by fans: Pre-season Tournaments and Player Training, alongside restructured features such as Updated Global Transfer Network, New Club Transfer Budgets, and New Story of the Season. Pre-season tournaments allow players to take their major clubs around the world as they prepare for the upcoming campaigns. This may provide a good venue for gamers to work on their tactical skills and plan line-ups more efficiently as the more challenging the match is, the greater the reward.

FIFA 16 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 will miss out on the Creation Centre, a tool that allows for the customization and building of your own formations and tournaments. Custom Music and Chants will also be lost in the move to Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms, along with the FIFA Interactive World Cup, GameFace, Match Lobbies and secondary English commentary with Clyde Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. Soccer is a team game, but much of the appeal is still about the stars. FIFA apparently understands that and has expended the time, effort and resources to accurately scan in more than 450 new star heads, per EA Sports. The newly scanned players span the globe, gender and even different eras. The official website for the game says: "In addition to Barclays Premier League players and athletes from Women's National Teams, we have also captured the likeness of some FUT Legends, and players from the major clubs in Spain and other leagues around the world."

As usual, the latest FIFA makes some changes to the series formula. FIFA 16 boasts an overhauled career mode for those of you who can tear yourself away from Ultimate Team for long enough to check out this core campaign. If you don’t have the time or the patience to go through a whole season of Ultimate Team building, you’re going to love this new draft mode. You’ll get to experience players like Suarez or Messi without having to worry about the time. Pick your first 11 players and you’re ready to start. This way you’ll get a taste of what it feels like to be in charge of such a dream team made out of stellar players. And the best part about it is that the mode session will be sufficient enough to play 4 games tops. But there is a catch, if you loose before the 4 game limit is complete, you’re finished and you’ll need to put together a new team from zero.

The major additions - as requested by the community - are Pre-season Tournaments and Player Training, but there's a range of other additions and tweaks too. Sign free agents outside of the transfer window. Scout Reports - After scouting a player reports are available to you now for an entire calendar year before expiring vs three months in FIFA 16. Transfer Budget -Transfer budgets are now more realistically tailored to the club you're using in Career Mode. Also, a percentage of the remaining budget from the previous season will carry over to the next. and will vary based on where your club finished in regards to season goals.

New features that are available across the games included new gameplay abilities, such as “defend as a unit”, which lets players move together to close down attackers, and “moment of magic”, which helps create special moves. Most of the new features are of that kind, tweaking and refining the gameplay rather than instituting major changes. But developers have added some new game modes, such as Fifa Trainer, a special mode that can overlay training modules to help teach people how to improve - which is available on all platforms. On the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, players get access to nine new stadiums, which takes the total number to 50 licensed and 28 generic stadiums.

For FIFA 16, EA has introduced a realistic defensive mechanism that will now make it even harder for attackers to evade them when rushing towards the goal on the counter. For FIFA 16, defences will be solid, strong and boast a presence that will make attackers and midfielders think twice before orchestrating a play in the middle of the park. For the new game, strong defensive players will have a similar virtual representation, and remain confident that scoring a goal past them won't be as easy you think. EA Sports' FIFA 16 will be released later this year for all major consoles and PC.
