FIFA 16 Ultimate Team mode has also undergone a facelift with the draft mode

The 12 national women's sides offered might be a little stingy in number, but it’s a start and at least an effort has been made to ensure their matches feel different from the men's game. The action is slower and more deliberate. Slightly more languid turning circles mean dribbling in tight spaces is difficult, encouraging a more robust style of passing. I found the altered pace refreshing. Make no mistake: this is still an exhaustive package. There are enough licensed teams, leagues and spot-on player likenesses here to, well, launch your own brown-envelope-free rival governing body. And, unlike PES 16's pitiful PC showing, FIFA 16 is a cracking port that runs well on a variety of rigs-I played on a (admittedly monstrous) 980 TI, and the subsequent 4K/unfaltering 60fps action was totally sumptuous.

The formation has an important role when choosing a chemistry style. Players which play in the same position but in different formations may have different needs. Let’s take the example of the centre backs. If they play in a 4xx formation, they should be fast. However, to the central CB of a 5xx formation, the defending and the heading is something much more important. When choosing a chemistry style, you should carefully analyse the roles of each player in the team. There are no two players alike. So, it is impossible to apply a chemistry style without knowing the players’ attributes and work rates. FIFA 16 Ultimate Team mode has also undergone a facelift with the "draft" mode allowing you to craft a team of all-stars and compete among friends/other online players, and I think that's where the future of the franchise has always been. The solo modes are addictive and will sustain you until next season but there's nothing sweeter than the rich pageant of online braggadocio.

This is the final part of a much larger review but since no one likes reading long posts I broke it down into subtopics. These are based on major features, modes and gameplay mechanics. This aims to be a balanced and unbiased review. I often got lost in the swathes of menus, consumables and auctions of previous Ultimate Team installments – but Draft lets you get straight down to putting a good team on the pitch with all the typical challenges of Ultimate Team – building team quality and chemistry. There is enough on display here to warrant the upgrade - even if the formula does feel like it is being stretched slightly too far.

As is the case with any consumer product that reaches the top of the mountain, there may not be anywhere to go but down as new challenges present themselves. The improvements to "FIFA 16" this year are notable in some areas but as a whole it’s starting to feel like the series is getting stagnant, with too much effort being put toward expanding revenue sources rather than delivering innovation that would appeal to a wider audience. Despite that, it's still the most reliable and consistent sports gaming franchise and that holds a lot of weight in the minds of consumers. With "FIFA 16," you know you’re playing a really good game, but you might not completely believe it as much as in the past.

If you plan to play for several seasons, you should start to consider the future of your club as soon as possible. FIFA 16 has two options to find promising players. The first comes down to the normal scouting system that allows you to search specifically for young prospects, but that doesn't mean that all the solutions are of the required quality. Each player has a note indicated by the scout, either in relation to their status at the club or their contract duration, for example. The most promising, however, are often marked with two notes, "high potential" or "exciting promise." The first means that at this point in his career, he is a reasonable player with the potential to become a great player, with training and regular playing time. The exciting promise is guaranteed value, and can be a valid alternative straight away and has the potential to be one of the world's top players.

Finally, one last tip. Although it may not seem like it, you are not required to manage the same club for an entire career. In the office section you can find a option to look for new jobs, which lets you know which clubs are currently looking for a coach. If you like one of the alternatives, you can always try your luck to give your career a new direction.
