FIFA 22 ePremier League has a prize pool of £100,000 this year

FIFA 22's ePremier League season 20201/22 is just around the corner. The "Big 6" teams are competing, with new models and more money than ever. Everything you need to know before the season starts.

In an announcement, EA confirmed that the competition, which allows players to represent their top-flight football club, is returning for its fourth year. For the 2021/22 season, the tournament's prize pool has been upped to £100,000, with the three top-ranking players also gaining a place at FIFA 22's Global Series Playoffs.

The other big change for the ePremier League is a shift to a team-orientated format. While clubs in the past would field two players each (one competing in the Xbox bracket, the other competing in the PlayStation bracket) it was still very much a solo event, with the winning player of each bracket facing off in a cross-console final to determine the overall winner. For FIFA 22, there will be a winning club, rather than a sole winning player, with the results of their Xbox and PlayStation players being combined during the Grand Finals stage.

This year’s iteration begins with a series of open qualification tournaments. These will take place between November and January. They will determine which players qualify for the Club Playoffs, from which the top two players from all 20 Premier League clubs progress!

No matter how good you are, you'll be able to compete by registering to take part in a series of qualifying tournaments taking place between November and January. Make it to the top, and you could earn a place at the Grand Final, where the two best players from each of the Premiership's 20 teams - one competing on a PS5, the other on an Xbox Series X - will compete in a new format. For the first time, players will work collaboratively in a series of 1v1 matches against those from other clubs.

Speaking of the Grand Final: The final of the ePremier League will take place on March 26th and 27th. In the end, two players will compete for their team on their respective preferred consoles (PlayStation and Xbox). In the best case, of course, live - and in front of many fans.

On top of the exciting prize pool and format news, the ePremier League also intends to return to a live, in-person Grand Final. While the venue is yet to be confirmed, and hosting the event live is still subject to COVID restrictions, this is still a big plus.
